Alumna of the PWU-School of Nursing, Haydee Soriano Bacani has emerged as the top 1 in the Nurse Licensure Examination with a rating of 89.40. She bested the 5,007 examinee-passers.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) posted all official results yesterday July 16, 2021 ten working days after the examination.
“The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 5,008 out of 7,746 passed the Nurse Licensure Examination given by the Board of Nursing in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga this July 2021,” the source specifies.
All PWU first-time takers also passed this examination yielding a staggering 100% passing rate.
University of the Philippines-Manila got in the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 10th places, respectively.
Ms. Bacani as a then PWU student possesses the right PWU values and disposition. Her undergraduate thesis entitled, “The Effectiveness of the Ease-to-Communicate Board as a Communication Tool for Non-Speaking Clients” demonstrates her care and love for the patients.”
“This thesis was defended just before the lockdowns, and was presented during the PWU Research Colloquium,” shared Ms. Bacani.
At the height of the pandemic earlier in 2020, Ms. Bacani composed an original song, “Paalala Laban sa Sakit: The COVID-19 Song,” (Reminder Against the Disease: The COVID-19 Song) which is crooned by PWU-School of Music alumnus, Patrick Jonathan Abella.
“Sabon at tubig, wastong paghugas ng mga kamay; sa alcohol mikrobyo ay namamatay; bata man o matanda, lahat ating iakay; kung maari ay manatili sa loob ng bahay,” the refrain of this song campaign goes.
In February 2021, PWU’s Philippine School of Social Work alumnus also raked the 7th place in the Social Worker Licensure Examination.
Jefferson Piñon Medrano yielded a rating of 81.40%. Seven more PSSW test-takers also passed the licensure examination resulting in a 100% passing rate.
PWU-School of Pharmacy also amassed a 100% Pharmacist Licensure Examination rate based on the official results posted by the PRC last July 7, 2021
