Posted: June 5, 2014

The Fernando C. Amorsolo Art Foundation, Inc. in partnership with the Philippine Women’s University celebrates Fernando C. Amorsolo Day with a drawing/painting workshop on May 29, 2014, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Helena Z Benitez Hall, Taft campus, Manila.

Open to artists and non-artists including children, the workshop allows the participant to interact while they transfer real life images to canvas and paper as portraits and still life.

Suzie Benitez, AVP of Campus Life said selected works done by the participants will be on exhibit at the HZB Hall on May 30, 2014.

Amorsolo, declared in 1972 as the first national artist for painting, is recorded to have produced over 10,000 paintings, sketches and studies. He was especially known for his paintings or images of Filipino women from the countryside and rural landscape.
