PWU marks 96th foundation anniversary

The Philippine Women’s University kicks-off its foundation month celebration with an inter-faith prayer worship on February 2, 2015 (Monday), 9:00AM at the Conrado Benitez Hall, Taft campus, Manila.

Carrying the theme “Quality Service, Quality Education: PWU’S Legacy to the Nation,” the program opens with prayers of student representatives from different religious denominations, followed by the Presidents’ remarks of Dr. Francisco B. Benitez who will lead the candle light ceremony.

Benitez, the 9th president of PWU will be joined by representative members of the PWU community from Taft and Quezon City campuses.

Board Chairperson and former Senator Dr. Helena Z Benitez will give the inspirational message and the program closes with community singing led by the Campus Life Singers.

Highlight of the Foundation Month celebration is the President’s Convocation on Feb. 9, 10:00 am where Pres. Benitez delivers his assessment of the school’s performance and directives for succeeding years.

Special guest is Margot Cassel Pins, 83, an elementary Jewish alumna from 1940-1944 who survived the holocaust through the open door policy of the Pres. Manuel Quezon in 1938.

Musical numbers will be provided by the Jose Abad Santos Memorial School (JASMS) Rondalla, with Noli DO. Rodriguez, conducting.
