PWU School of Music holds Guitarfest 2015

The PWU School of Music will hold its second guitar festival on August 10th until August 14th. It will be held at the Music Recital Hall featuring lectures, master classes and concerts by international artists namely Michael Nigro from USA and Meng-Feng Su of Taiwan including PWU faculty Dr. Angelito Agcaoili, Ramoncito “Monching” Carpio and Franco Maigue.

The festival aims to enhance and upgrade the performance level of classical guitar which is gaining popularity in the country.

Local ensembles that will perform at the 5-day festival are the PWU Guitar Ensemble, UP Guitar Guild, UST Guitar Ensemble, QCPADFI Guitar Ensemble and the Metropolitan Guitar Ensemble. All evening solo concerts start at 7pm and will highlight a rich repertoire of classic pieces including “A Tribute Concert for Bayani de Leon and Angel Matias Peña” on August 12th at 7pm. All festival activities are free and open to the public.
