Accreditation is a quality assurance process that educational institutions like PWU voluntarily undergo to determine whether their academic programs meet commonly accepted standards of education.

Recently, PAASCU (the Philipppine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities) visited PWU to survey and evaluate its Interior Design, Fine Arts, Medical Technology, Social Work and Tourism programs. Heading the accrediting team was Dr. Elizabeth Melchor, member of PAASCU’s commission on tertiary education. Other members were Mr. Robin Serrano and Mr. Mark Montealegre (for Interior Design and Fine Arts), Ms. Nenita Romero and Mr. Geronio Ulayao (Tourism), Dr. Stephen Francis Baldo (Medical Technology) and Dr. Melba Manapol and Ms. Ma. Lourdes T. Jarabe (Social Work).

PWU-JASMS head Mrs. Remedios H. Cruz worked tirelessly with Dean Don Amorsolo (SFAD), Dean Nini Lim (MedTech), Dean Cora Salita (PSSW) and Dean Evelyn Pantig (Tourism) and their staff to prepare for the PAASCU visit on September 1-2, 2015. PAASCU is a private, voluntary service organization headed by Mrs. Concepcion V. Pijano, Executive Director. PWU President Dr. Francisco Benitez thanked the PWU teaching and non-teaching personnel, who were cited by the PAASCU visitors for their commitment and hard work.
