Senator Cynthia Villar will be the guest of honor during the 70th founding anniversary of the National Council of Women of the Philippines (NCWP) on June 6, 2016, 2:00 pm at the Philippine Women’s University, Taft Ave., Manila.
It likewise marks the 130th birth anniversary of Francisca Tirona Benitez, key founder of PWU and NCWP. Both institutions are recognized for their contributions to nation-building, civic well-being and women’s empowerment.
The celebration will be led by NCWP Pres. Dr. Leonida “Baby” Ortiz, immediate NCWP past president Dr. Amelou Reyes and PWU Pres. Dr. Francisco Benitez who will give the welcome remarks.
A Thanksgiving mass will be held at the PWU chapel to be officiated by Fr. Paul Marquez.
Highlight of the celebration is the ceremonial turn-over of books to public schools, a project of NCWP in partnership with Second Wind Foundation under NCWP VP for Mindanao and Chairperson of Book Acquisition Project Teresita Gonzalez.
