China-ASEAN cooperation in cultural and art education was the theme of the “11th China-ASEAN Cultural Forum” recently held in Guangxi Zhuang, an autonomous region of China. Dean Don Amorsolo of the Philippine Women’s University School of Fine Arts and Design presented a paper sharing the Philippine experience in Art Education and envisioning synergy for future collaborations between China and ASEAN. Dean Amorsolo also discussed the Arts and Design Track for Senior High School, which is offered by PWU through JASMS, its basic education department, as a bridging program for gifted students who want to pursue college arts or design programs. Heads of prestigious art schools and cultural institutions attended the China-ASEAN Forum which was held at the Guangxi Museum of Nationalities and hosted by the Ministry of Culture of People’s Republic of China in Nanning from September 10 to 12, 2016.
