The PWU-JASMS Rondalla will perform before Asian leaders and delegates at the gala dinner of the 30th Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit hosted by President Rodrigo Duterte, chairman of this year’s summit, to be held in Manila on April 29, 2017.
The award winning Rondalla is composed of high school and grade school students from PWU-JASMS’s Manila campus, under the baton of teacher Noli Rodriguez. The students will perform a repertoire ranging from original Filipino compositions to music from other lands, demonstrating the versatility and outstanding skills that made them the Grand Prize winners in the last two NAMCYA (National Music Competitions for Young Artists).
ASEAN leaders and guests will be in for a treat as the PWU-JASMS Rondalla showcase Philippine culture at its best and bring to life the ASEAN Summit’s theme of “Partnering for Change, Engaging the World.”
