Welcome PWU’s Class of 2017

850 graduating students will be honored at PWU’s 94th Commencement Ceremonies on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the PICC Plenary Hall. The candidates for graduation will be presented to PWU president Francisco B. Benitez, who will lead the Board of Trustees and the PWU academic community in welcoming this year’s graduating class as they receive their undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Audrey Shane T. Dionida, who is graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree (summa cum laude) will give the valedictory address on behalf of her fellow graduates.

On Friday, July 7 the graduates will thank their parents and teachers during the Baccalaureate Ceremonies to be held at PWU’s Taft Ave. campus.

PWU’s Board of Trustees will also honor Senator Cynthia A. Villar, this year’s commencement speaker, with an honorary degree in recognition of her innovative programs aimed at poverty alleviation, sustainable development and the advancement of women. Former Senator Manny Villar will receive the Dean Conrado Benitez Heritage Award during the ceremony. PWU’s School of Business will launch the Manny Villar Institute for Entrepreneurship in honor of Mr. Villar.

PWU’s highest award, the “Hiyas ng Pamantasan” will be given to Mrs. Victorina Amalingan-Sales, a PWU alumna, in recognition of her outstanding service to the university community. This year’s awards were announced by Dr. Patricia Ma. Araneta, member of PWU’s Board of Trustees and chairperson of the 2017 Awards Committee.
