Alumni of the Philippine Women’s University gathered to celebrate their Homecoming last Saturday, October 14, 2017, at the Long Beach Marriott Hotel in California. It was a day of festivities, full of reminiscing and sharing fond memories of their time in PWU. The event was organized by the PWU Nursing Alumni of America as well as other alumnae who came in support of them.

Those present at the event, including representatives from the Southern California chapter of the PWU Alumni Association, were updated about their Alma Mater as well as the upcoming Centennial which will be taking place in 2019. That evening, PWU’s current president, Dr. Francisco Benitez, spoke to the alumni about current events at the University and updated them on the Centennial as well.

The 2017 PWUNAA (Philippine Women’s University Nursing Alumni Association) Homecoming Chairperson was Lorna H. Garcia, who came all the way from Alaska. Nursing alumni came from Australia, the Philippines, and all over the USA to attend this third Homecoming.

Message from the PWU President

Many of you that I have spoken to have longingly talked about the “glory days” of PWU. Most of the faculty and personnel who have stayed on at PWU also lovingly recall those days. PWU was an educational leader in new fields of endeavor.
