“Re-live Fun Mem’ries” was what alumni of PWU, JASMS, the BAYANIHAN, PWC of Davao and Iloilo did on February 18, 2018 during their Grand Alumni Homecoming held at Le Pavillion, Roxas Boulveard.
Hosting the event was HS Class 1968 who came in full force from all over the Philippines and around the world. Homecoming chair, Georgina Ochoa Espaldon recounted how they used social media to organize but even drove to Batangas to track down classmates.
JASMS QC alumni led by Gigi Virata paid tribute to 10 pioneer teachers and administrators, who came in person or were represented by their family. JASMS alumnus RM de Leon donated prints that were given to the honorees with a plaque designed by May-i Padilla, from the class of 1997.
Bayanihan alumnae performed a much-applauded dance combining traditional movements with modern music. Sapphire Jubilarian class (HS ’73) did a hip hop number and Silver Jubilarians (HS ’93) sang a song. Next year’s hosts, HS ’69 invited everyone to be “Happy” and return for the centennial homecoming on Feb. 23, 2019.
Popular TV host Boy Abunda shared his reasons to be proud of PWU and launched the Centennial Fund Drive with a generous donation. He asked alumni to send their ideas to email@example.com and to be involved in the celebration of PWU’s 100th year.
