Understanding Charter Change and Federalism: A Town Hall Forum

Posted: March 16, 2018

In line with PWU’s commitment to promoting participatory citizenship grounded in a holistic education, a University-wide forum on Charter Change and Federalism was held last Thursday, March 15 2018, at the Conrado Benitez Hall.

The forum provided a venue for the faculty, staff, and students of PWU to actively engage in a community discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of amending the 1987 Philippine Constitution and the proposed shift to a Federal form of government.

Invited speakers were DILG Asst. Sec. Jonathan Malaya and former Solicitor General Prof. Florin Hilbay, who lent their expertise and ably addressed the many questions that were posed by members of the faculty and staff. Professor Lilia Casanova from the PWU School of International Relations and Diplomacy (SIRD) moderated the discussion.
