SHIRT for the LESS

Posted: July 9, 2018

Last Friday, June 29, students of the PWU Communication Arts program donated three hospital beds to Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center (JRRMMC). These hospital beds were purchased with funds generated by their thesis project called SHIRT for the LESS.

The brainchild of Vianna Patrisha M. Manalang, Judy Ann T. Lozano and Hiady B. Aguilar, SHIRT for the LESS is an advocacy project that aims to raise awareness regarding the state of public health care institutions, and to generate support for it. Originally conceived in fulfilment of Prof. Raymond Tribdino’s thesis project requirement, the three enterprising students are now considering pursuing the project beyond the walls of PWU due to its overwhelming success. In a very short time, the project was able to successfully fund the hospital beds by selling original graphic t-shirts and tapping corporate sponsors.
