PWU RunHundred 2019

Posted: November 16, 2018

The Philippine Women’s University is turning 100 in 2019. Among the many celebrations planned is a fun run labeled “RunHundred” on Saturday, February 2, 2019 in the SM by the Bay area, Pasay City. The public is invited to run in solidarity with PWU and JASMS students, alumni and friends who will honor their past while running towards the future. PWU was founded in 1919 and was the first university for women in Asia founded by women. It is now co-educational and includes among its alumni, TV host Dr. Boy Abunda who is actively involved in the PWU Centennial Committee’s “100 Reasons to be Proud” campaign.

Runners can join RunHundred 2019 in the 500M, 3K, 5K or 10K distance categories according to TV personality Kuya Kim Atienza, who is a runner and spearheads the fun run (both his parents are PWU and Bayanihan alumni). RunHundred 2019 will have something for everyone including a raffle for participants with tickets from Philippine Airlines, the official carrier of the PWU Centennial. Online registration at tinyurl.com/PWURunHundred2019 begins on November 2, 2018 while manual forms are available at fifteen (15) Air21 offices in Metro Manila. Air21 is the official courier of the PWU Centennial.

RunHundred 2019 is a centennial project of the PWU Alumni Association. Fun Run co-chairwomen are Lolita A. Valdez and Sylvia P. Lina who are inviting alumni of PWU, JASMS, the Bayanihan, PWC of Davao and Iloilo as well as students from schools in the Metro Manila area to join the event – which will transform the panoramic bay area into a colorful and fun-filled celebration of PWU’s 100 years of quality education in service to the nation.
