Posted: January 21, 2019

Sr. Callista Roy is one of the most recognized names in the field of nursing today. Highly-acclaimed nurse theorist, teacher, and researcher, she is considered a living legend by the American Academy of Nursing. She authored the Roy Adaptation Model, a holistic framework which has been widely used to understand and direct nursing practice worldwide for over 40 years.

Sr. Roy will be in Manila as part of the Philippine Women’s University Centennial Lecture series. She will appear at PWU on Thursday, February 21, 2019 for the PWU Nursing Alumni Association (PWUNAA) Clinical Nursing Conference, where she will speak at length about her Adaptation Theory. Also delivering lectures are Dr. Glenda S. Arquiza, Chairperson of the Board of Nursing, and Dr. Lydia T. Mendoza, Associate Professor at the UP College of Nursing. The conference is open to all registered and student nurses.

The conference will be preceded by the PWUNAA Biennial Nursing Ball on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the Novotel Hotel in Quezon City. PWU Nursing alumni are coming from all over the world to attend both events.
