Dr. Leo Munalim, a faculty member from the Philippine Women’s University (PWU) School of Arts and Sciences, is now on the Editorial Team of Journal of English as an International Language (EILJ), a SCOPUS-indexed journal. SCOPUS is Elsevier Publishing Company’s “largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature: scientific journals, books and conference proceedings.”

EILJ’s Chief Editor Dr. Sivakumar Sivasubramaniam announced that Dr. Munalim will join the Editorial Board as part of Dr. Sharon Clampitt-Dunlap’s team. Dr. Siva also tapped Leo as one of the external examiners on theses and dissertations at the Department of Language Education, Faculty of Education at the University of Western Cape in South Africa.

Dr. Munalim’s paper, focusing on Subject-Auxiliary inversion compares spoken Philippine English between 1999 and 2016-2019. It was published in the Journal of English as an International Language Vol. 14 Issue 1 in 2019.

Dr. Siva noted Professor Leo’s potential when he said, “This is a very rare incident indeed in my ten year tenure as Chief Editor of EILJ that a paper has been accepted for publication in the EILJ without any revision.” EILJ is published by English Language Education Journals in Brisbane, Australia.
