One of the highlights of the Philippine Women’s University’s recent Centennial Grand Alumni Homecoming was the election of a new set of officers. Atty. Rosario “Chito” Calixto-Chavez heads the PWU Alumni Association as president with Erlynn Bernardez Campos (1st Vice-President), Chona Gomez-Paredes (2nd Vice President), Carol C. Navarro (Secretary), Mary Rose Lema (Asst. Sec.), Liz Fernandez-Gonzales (Treasurer), Jocelyn Esguerra-Nobleza (Asst. Treasurer), Lina Iñigo-Winebrenner (PRO) and Sabrina S. Villaflor (Auditor). The board recently met with Dr. Francisco Benitez, PWU president, who officially administered their oath of office at PWU’s historic Taft Avenue campus. PWU alumni play a leading role in PWU’s yearlong Centennial celebrations which will culminate with a Golf Tournament on February 17 and the Grand Alumni Homecoming on February 22, 2020.

Message from the PWU President

Many of you that I have spoken to have longingly talked about the “glory days” of PWU. Most of the faculty and personnel who have stayed on at PWU also lovingly recall those days. PWU was an educational leader in new fields of endeavor.

“Are you a Philwomenian?” That was our Facebook tag line and sure enough, we received many “likes” and “shares” from here and abroad. We feel that deep pride in being a Philwomenian.
