This December, international folk dance companies from Korea, Poland, Indonesia and Mexico will regale local audiences during “Fiesta Folkloriada,” a project of the Bayanihan Folk Arts Foundation. It is Bayanihan’s way of bringing culture and education together through music and dances during this festive season. The official opening will be held on December 17, 2019 at 3:00pm at the Philippine Women’s University as part of PWU’s centennial celebration.
The internationally acclaimed folk dance companies, who had to vie to come to the Philippines one year before the event, will perform, teach and share their skills during the one week culture exchange program under the auspices of the Federation for International Dance Festivals (FIDAF). The “Fiesta Folkloriada” grand finale will have back to back performances from the international performers and the Philippines’ own Bayanihan, the national folk dance company, at the Cultural Center of the Philippines on December 21, 2019 at 3:00pm.
