An Effective Communication Skills Seminar was held on November 27, 2019 at the CB Hall organized by the PWU Career and Placement Office and in partnership with ACADSOC an online education company. The career seminar was attended by PWU and JASMS students. Ms. Genesis Kariz Diaz–Cuntapay, an alumna who is now an ESL Teacher/Trainer and Process Trainer was the guest speaker. She started the event with an inspiring quote from Mike Krzyzewshi, “Effective teamwork begins and ends with communication.” The Seminar was highlighted with a group activity “Role Playing Script.” With the assistance of Ms. Rissa Oblifias – Marketing Manager of ACADSOC, the participants were only allowed to use one word to act out roles to explore a particular scenario.
Ms. Cuntapay focused on effective communication skills such as: active listening, non-verbal gestures, asking the right questions, sympathy and empathy. She also spoke about the generation gap to the graduating students from PWU and JASMS Senior High School.
