Enrolment Reminders for School Year 2020-2021

Office of the President Memo #001 – July 28, 2020

The University recognizes the tremendous impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the community, particularly our students and their families. While we have planned for the implementation of the PWU Flexible Learning modality for this school year to ensure that education continues for our learners, we understand that many are reeling from the financial impact this crisis has brought.

Together with reducing some of our miscellaneous and other fees this school year, we have also reduced installment charges by fifty percent (50%).1 Moreover, we have partnered with Telco and Equipment providers to offer Tablets and WIFI devices at student-friendly packages.2

To further aid our students in continuing with their education this 1st Trimester SY 2020-2021, the University will allow Tertiary students who have ENLISTED for their courses to be included and participate in the Google Classroom of each course, even if they have not yet officially enrolled. The final deadline for enrollment for 1st Trimester SY 2020-2021 shall be on September 12, 2020.

We are therefore encouraging all students to process their online enrollment/enlistment via the PWU Website so that they may already participate in the Student Orientation which begins July 29, and on the first day of classes on August 3, 2020.

Learning Equipment and Connectivity Packages

Office of the President Memo #104 – July 23, 2020

Among the major challenges faced by our community last school year as we transitioned to flexible learning were internet connectivity and the availability of suitable devices to access our learning management platform for both synchronous and asynchronous activities.

In the hope of addressing these challenges, the University has partnered with both telecom and equipment providers in order to offer faculty, employees, and students a more affordable way to own a laptop, tablet or wireless device for the flexible work and learning environments.

The University community may order these equipment and wifi devices through the order forms below. Please refer to the link applicable to your unit:

In order to facilitate delivery of equipment by early August, the order forms shall be available until July 31, 2020 only. The equipment and devices shall be subject to the availability of stocks by the supplier. Only PWU issued email addresses may access the form, and only officially enrolled students for the SY 2020-2021 may avail of these packages.

For your information and guidance.
