Office of the President Memo #002 – July 28, 2020
I am pleased to announce the following new appointments/designations with their corresponding position titles effective August 1, 2020.
Dr. Leonardo O. Munalim, Dean, School of Arts and Sciences
Dr. Munalim is an Associate Professor at the PWU School of Arts and Sciences. He is a prolific author, researcher, and an editorial board member of SCOPUS-indexed local and international journals. He finished three aligned degrees in Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics and MA in English both from Philippine Normal University, and Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English. He is a candidate of a Graduate Certificate in Distance Education from UP Open University this August 2020.
Ms. Josephine L. Turalba, Dean, School of Fine Arts and Design
Ms. Turalba is an interdisciplinary artist who explores issues of divide and convergence within a volatile geo-political world order. She holds a Master’s of Fine Arts degree in New Media from Transart Institute, New York, USA validated by Donau Universität Krems, Austria. She had served as Dean of the PWU School of Fine Arts and Design from 2012-2015; and research fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Future Heritage Lab.
Mr. Sherwin B. Toriano, Program Chair, School of Medical Technology
Mr. Toriano is a product of the PWU School of Medical Technology. He served as a Board Review lecturer for professional Med Tech subjects. He founded the Philippine Society of Laboratory Microscopists, an educational organization dedicated to learning parasitic and cellular elements using a social media platform.
Ms. Vanessa O. Ceballos, Program Chair, School of Nutrition
Ms. Ceballos is currently a faculty member of the School of Nutrition and the manager of the PWU Nutrition Clinic. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics degree in UP and finished her Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition in PWU as a scholar of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) – Science Education Institute (SEI).
