PWU Career Development and Continuing Education Center (CDCEC) – Tarlac

Established in 2002 at the heart of Tarlac City, it paved the way for a strategic, conducive and accessible foundation for Technical Education (TESDA). Initially granted with just 4 courses from the Technical Education & Skills Development Authority, it now boast of approved courses from the Department of Education (DEPED) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

Now nestled in the upper floors of C&S building in Juan Luna St, the school is armed with 12 Updated Learning Laboratories, 14 Classrooms, 6 Auxillary Offices and a Gym to provide the best possible learning experience one needs for a secured future.

Through the efforts of the dedicated and experienced Faculty & Staff, the promise of everybody absorbing the 3 C’s, Competency, Confidence and Character is assured through the performance of time tested academic and extracurricular activities that includes Acquaintance Party, Intramurals, Foundation celebrations and relevant industry tours.

As the school moves towards the future, PWU CDCEC-TARLAC will continue to adhere to the mission and vision of the university, envisioning a proactive, nurturing faith community rooted in spirituality, which develops transformative leadership for global competitiveness.

Senior High School

Academic Track

The ABM strand emphasizes practical business skills and prepares students for the rigors of college coursework in business and economics. It covers a broad range of subjects, including the basics of accounting, business math, economics, management, and entrepreneurship, as well as more specialized topics such as marketing, finance, and business law.

The STEM Strand in Senior High School focuses on developing learners’ skills and knowledge in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This strand is designed for students who have a strong interest in these areas and want to pursue careers in fields such as engineering, medicine, research, technology, and more.

The HUMSS Strand in Senior High School is designed to equip learners with critical thinking, communication, and research skills that are relevant in a range of academic and professional contexts. This strand focuses on the study of human society and culture, and explores various disciplines including anthropology, sociology, psychology, economics, political science, history, and literature.

Technical-Vocational-Livelihood Track

The ICT Strand in Senior High School is designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge in the field of Information Technology. This strand is intended for students who are interested in pursuing careers in the digital world, such as software programming, web development, and data analytics.

The Home Economics strand in Senior High School equips learners with essential life skills in household management, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and personal development. This strand focuses on practical applications in areas such as food preparation, budgeting, clothing and textiles, family welfare, and consumer education. It is ideal for students interested in careers related to hospitality, social services, and business management.

College

The programs related to the fields of hospitality and tourism education will equip students with competencies that are needed to execute tasks on food production (culinary) and accommodations operations, food and beverage service operations, tourism planning and product development, MICE planning and management, transportation services, travel and tour services.

The programs related to the fields of hospitality and tourism education will equip students with competencies that are needed to execute tasks on food production (culinary) and accommodations operations, food and beverage service operations, tourism planning and product development, MICE planning and management, transportation services, travel and tour services.

This is the program that provides general accounting education to students wanting to pursue a professional career in Accounting Information System. Further, this is the program that complies with the latest competency framework for professional accountants issued by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) through their International Education Standards. Thus, this qualifies the graduate of this program to take assessments leading to certifications in Accounting Information System given by global professional Accounting Information System organizations.

The Bachelor of Science Information Systems Program includes the study of application and effect of information technology to organizations. Graduates of the program should be able to implement an information system, which considers complex technological and organizational factors affecting it. These include components, tools, techniques, strategies, methodologies, etc.

Anchored on CHED Memorandum Circular No. 5 series of 1998, the Associate in Computer Technology is a two-year non-degree program leading to a diploma in Associate in Computer Technology. The course being exactly equivalent to the first two years of the degree programs in Bachelor of Science in Information System, the ACT may be considered as a ladderized program for the above mentioned programs.

TESDA Programs

The Diploma of Hospitality Technology is a three-year program preparing trainees for careers, career changes and career advancement and opportunities in the Hospitality Industry. The graduates of this program also prepare trainees for transfer to four year and baccalaureate courses of higher institutions. Each trainee will take the Diploma of Hospitality Technology excellence to job ready exams in various courses that qualify them to earn additional certifications in Food and Beverage Services, Cookery, Bread and Pastry Production, Housekeeping, Bartending, Front office and Events Management up to the higher level of qualification framework.

The Diploma of Tourism Technology is a three year program preparing trainees for careers, career changes and career advancement and opportunities in the Tourism Industry. The graduates of this program also prepare trainees for transfer to four year and baccalaureate courses of higher institutions. Each trainee will take the Diploma of Tourism Technology excellence to job ready exams in various courses that qualify them to earn additional certifications in Tour Guiding, Travel Services, Transportation Services, Tourism Promotion, Front office and Events Management up to the higher level of qualification framework.

The Diploma of Information System Technology is a three year program preparing trainees for careers, career changes and career advancement and opportunities in the Information Technology Industry. The graduates of this program also prepare trainees for transfer to four year and baccalaureate courses of higher institutions. Each trainee will take the Diploma of Information System Technology excellence to job ready exams in various courses that qualify them to earn additional certifications in Computer System Servicing, Visual Graphics Design, Animation, Contact Center, Game Programming, Bookkeeping, Electronic Product Assembly up to the higher level of qualification framework.

The Diploma of Nursing Technology is a three-year program preparing trainees for careers, career changes and career advancement and opportunities. The graduates of this program also prepare trainees for transfer to four year and baccalaureate courses of higher institutions. Each trainee will take the Diploma in Nursing Care excellence to job ready exams in various courses that qualify them to earn additional certifications in Caregiving, Health Care Services, Barangay Health Services, Community Disaster Management, Emergency Medical Services, Pharmacy Services and up to the higher level of qualification framework.

The Diploma of Office Administration Technology is a three year program preparing trainees for careers, career changes and career advancement and opportunities in the Business and Management Sector. The graduates of this program also prepare trainees for transfer to four year and baccalaureate courses of higher institutions. The program content provides depth and broader concepts on professional/technical skill development. Professional/technical courses equip students with the skills to obtain employment and to advance the middle class workforce in the workplace. The program strives to meet the needs of today’s students by offering the three completion options (Diploma, Technologist, and technician certification). Each trainee will take the Diploma of Office Administration Technology excellence to job ready exams in various courses that qualify them to earn additional certifications in Bookkeeping, Micro-Finance, Customer Relations, Front office and Events Management up to the higher level of qualification framework.

This Practical Nursing Course is under the supervision or direction of a Registered Nurse, licensed Physician, or Dentist, and provides a unique contribution in the care of the individual throughout the lifespan. This care is based on the knowledge and application of principles and skills in the prevention of illness, and the maintenance, and restoration of health.

This 916 hour course consists of competencies that a person must achieve to provide care and support to infants/toddlers, provide care and support to children, foster social, intellectual, creative and emotional development of children, foster the physical development of children, provide care and support to elderly, provide care and support to people with special needs, maintain healthy and safe environment, respond to emergency, clean living room, dining room, bedrooms, toilet and bathroom, wash and iron clothes, linen, fabric, prepare hot and cold meals and establish professionalism in the workplace.

This 191 hour course consists of competencies that person must achieve to be able to clean equipment , tools and utensils and prepare, portion and plate pastries, breads and other dessert items to guests in hotels, motels, restaurants, clubs, canteens, resorts and luxury lines/cruises and other related operations.

This 280 hour course consists of competencies that must be possessed to enable to install and configure computers systems, set-up computer networks and servers and to maintain and repair computer systems and networks.

This 363 hour course consists of competencies that a person must achieve to clean kitchen areas, prepare hot, cold meals and desserts for guests in various food and beverage service facilities.

This 403 hour course consists of competencies that a person must achieve to provide care and support to infants/toddlers, provide care and support to children, foster social, intellectual, creative and emotional development of children, foster the physical development of children, provide care and support to elderly, provide care and support to people with special needs, maintain healthy and safe environment, respond to emergency, clean living room, dining room, bedrooms, toilet and bathroom, wash and iron clothes, linen, fabric, prepare hot and cold meals and establish professionalism in the workplace.

This 483 hour course consists of competencies that a person must possess in order to be able to conduct the process of making a reservation, registering and checking-in and checking-out a guest in commercial accommodation establishments.

This 483 hour course consists of competencies that a person must achieve to prepare guest rooms, clean premises and equipment, laundry linen and guest clothes, provide housekeeping services and provide valet services to hotels, motels, clubs, hospitals, resorts, dormitories and luxury liners.

This 292 hour course consists of competencies that a person must achieve to enable him/her to journalize transactions, post transactions, prepare trial balance, prepare financial reports and review internal control systems.

This 664 hour course consists of competencies that a person must achieve to coordinate events, functions and/or conferences which may be held in conference centers, hotels, motels, restaurants, clubs, resorts and luxury liners. It includes competencies on event planning such as planning and developing an event proposal, concept, and program, selecting a venue and site, and updating event industry knowledge, as well as competencies on on-site event management such as providing onsite management services, managing contractors and updating knowledge on protocol.

  • Good Moral Certificate from the High School Principal or Guidance Counselor (original copy)
  • Diagnostic Test

For Transfer Students or Second Coursers:

  • Certificate of Transfer Credential and True Copy of Grades for evaluation purposes
  • Official Transcript of Records must be valid for transfer, with the original copy signed by the Registrar and affix with school seal.
  • Colored ID photo with red background in corporate attire, 1 ½” x 1 ½” (5 copies)
  • Good Moral Certificate from the Dean or Guidance Counselor of the last school attended
