Admission to the University is open to all student applicants regardless of religion, race or gender. Every applicant is considered individually in a holistic assessment using all the information available to us.

The Office of Student Admissions caters to all inquiries and applications. Applicants must submit the required documents and pass the entrance examinations. In some cases, an interview with the Dean may be necessary.

Art Test Instruction

  1. Download Art Test Form of your respective course:
    Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)
    Bachelor of Science in Interior Design (BSID)
  2. Fill in and send it back to [email protected] the soonest.
  3. BFA Coordinator will schedule the interview and online drawing test through Google Meet.
  4. Prepare drawing materials and references assigned by the coordinator.
  5. During the drawing test, the camera angle should show the enrollee’s work in progress.
  6. The enrollee will send the scanned copy of the drawings.
  7. BFA Coordinator will evaluate the drawings and will inform the enrollee of the result the soonest.

VIDEO AUDITION

A video of a vocal performance of any song in any genre OR a music instrument performance of a piece in any genre.

This applies to applicants for Bachelor of Music (BM) with Major in:

Music Performance Video Audition Requirements

Major in Guitar:

  • Fernando Sor, Études 6-20 (choose 1)
  • A guitar piece by any of the following composers: Enrique Granados, Isaac Albéniz, Agustín Barrios, Mauro Giuliani, Heitor Villa-Lobos
  • Any Filipino piece for the guitar

Major in Piano:

  • Any étude from any of the following: Czerny Op. 740, Moskowski, or equivalent
  • One piece from Back Two-Part of Three-Part Inventions
  • One Bach Prelude and Fugue
  • Mozart or Beethoven Sonata – 1st movement
  • One 19th c. Romantic piece: examples – Chopin waltzes, Schubert impromptus, pieces by Schumann, Liszt, Brahms
  • One 20th c. piece: examples – Debussy, Ravel, Bartók Mikrokosmos Book 5

Major in Violin:

  • Scales and Arpeggios: two or three octaves
  • One étude from either Kayser or Kreutzer
  • One movement of a Baroque concerto (Vivaldi, J.S. Bach, Accolay) OR one movement from a Baroque sonata (Corelli, Handel, Tartini)

Major in Voice:

  • One song from the “Anthology of Italian Songs of the 17th and 18th centuries, Book 1”
  • One song from the “New Anthology of American Song” or its equivalent
  • One kundiman of any of the following composers: (Abelardo, Santiago, Cuenco, San Pedro, F. De Leon)

For other majors (Cello, Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone, Percussion:

  • A 15-minute repertoire consisting of the following: scale (1 octave) (except for percussion), one exercise/study, 2 pieces

Musicianship Placement Test

All applicants will take a theory and musicianship placement test so they can be guided accordingly in their course of study. This is a diagnostic test and not a pass or fail test.

    Note: Upload the Grade 12 report card or its equivalent
  2. Receive an automated email verification with applicant number and password.
  3. Go to PWU Student Portal.

  4. See the status of your application in the student portal within 2-3 business days during the enrollment period.

  5. Receive an acceptance letter upon approval of your application. Then, proceed with online enlistment, enrollment, and onsite or online payment.

Video Audition

MM Music Education Video Audition Requirements

Emphasis in Music Performance (piano, voice)

  • A video performance of a 30-minute repertoire of works from at least 3 different musical periods and/or styles.

Emphasis in Choral Conducting

  • A 30-minute video of a choral performance with the applicant conducting
  • Score reading

MM Piano Pedagogy Video Audition Requirements

  • A video performance of a 20-minute repertoire of works from at least 3 different musical periods and/or styles.

MM Music Performance (Major in Cello, Clarinet, Piano, Violin, Voice) Video Audition Requirements

  • A video performance of a 45-minute repertoire of works from at least 3 different musical periods and/or styles.

Ph.D. in Music, major in Music Performance

  • An MM degree or its equivalent in any major of applied music.
  • Video recording of any of the following past performances: 2 solo recitals OR 2 major performances where the applicant is a soloist OR a combination both (recording of a solo recital and a recording of a major performance).

  • Videos should be in mp4 file (preferably less than 200kb)

Documentary Requirements

Scanned copies of the following documents may be submitted via email for initial evaluation. The original and authenticated documents must be presented to the university upon enrollment:

  1. Scholastic record (form 137 of Transcript of Records) duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Consular Officer located in the student’s
    country of origin or legal residence
  2. Police Clearance Certificate issued by the National Police Authority in the student’s country of origin or legal residence – duly authenticated
    by Philippine Foreign Service Consular Officer located in the student’s country of origin or legal residence. Alternatively, a Certificate of Good Moral
    Character from a reputable and verifiable source will be accepted (e.g. Employer, Government Official)
  3. Applicant’s original birth certificate
  4. ID pictures (Two (2) copies 1.5” x 1.5”)
  5. Copy of current, valid passport showing photo, data, and stamp of latest arrival in the Philippines, and existing valid visa.

English Proficiency Requirements

  • A score of at least 500 (if paper-based) or 173 (if computer-based) or 61 (if internet-based) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) shall be required,
    or A score of at least 5 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) shall be required. If the applicant does not meet the requirements for English proficiency,
    one may be placed in the University’s Conditional English Program before the applicant is allowed to enrol in any program.
  • After completing the documentary requirements, an applicant is issued an applicant number by PWU Admissions Office. Applicant will be interviewed by the Dean of the PWU
    program he/she is interested in. The interview can be conducted in person or via the internet.
  • The applicant will be informed about acceptance by PWU and must then be in the Philippines to complete the admissions process

Cost of Attendance

  • Visa Application Fees: estimated at approximately USD250, to be paid in country of origin to the Philippine visa-issuing office.
  • Tuition and Application Fees:
    Rates vary depending on the study program. Please email admissions@pwu.edu.ph for a detailed breakdown of tuition and other fees.

Upon admission, the following payments will be made in addition to basic tuition and miscellaneous fees:

  • Acceptance fee: USD300
  • International students Fee: USD100 per trimester for the Bachelor Program; USD300 per trimester for Graduate Studies

International students who fail their subjects or violate any University or Philippine laws may be subject to dismissal and revocation of their student visas

Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) allows individuals to attain an academic degree through an assessment process that recognizes,
credits, and gives equivalencies to knowledge, skills, and prior learning gained from relevant formal, non-formal, and informal training and work experiences.
The Philippine Women’s University is one of the institutions deputized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to implement this program.

Admission Requirements

The following criteria must be met in order to be considered for admission:

  • Completed secondary education program or passed the Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) equivalent to first year college
  • At least 23 years as supported by an PSA authenticated birth certificate
  • At least 5 years of work experience related to the academic degree applied for
