TWO PWU RESEARCHERS RAKE GOLD, BRONZE QUILL AWARDS AT 5TH SMEC RESEARCH CONGRESS

The South Manila Educational Consortium (SMEC) closed its two-day Research Congress, held from Feb. 23-24, 2023 at the Bayleaf Hotel, with an awarding ceremony for its first SMEC Quill Awards.

Asst. Prof. @Raul Guillermo B. Chebat heaped the SMEC Research Quill Gold Award for co-authored research entitled, “Capacitation of Essential School Workers in Compliance with Philippine COVID-19 Guidelines: A Qualitative Study.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. @Menchita F. Dumlao received the SMEC Research Quill Bronze Award for co-authored research entitled, “The Need for Ethics Review in the Health and Social Sciences: Implications in South Manila Colleges and Universities.”

Both are professors from the PWU-School of Arts and Sciences (SAS). Dr. Dumlao is the current Program Chair of SAS-Information Technology.

SMEC’s first Research Quill Awards is a recognition awarded to authors from SMEC member schools who produced or published collaborative research that is duly recognized by the SMEC Board of Trustees.

SMEC’s 5th Research Congress with the theme, “Sustaining the Culture of Research during the Pandemic” was co-convened by St. Scholastica’s College Manila.

SMEC is celebrating its 50th year in 2024. PNU Manila will serve as the next Research Congress co-convener.
